OUR WORK

The Black United Fund of Texas seeks innovative creative ways to create opportunities in low-income communities by responding effectively to the concerns confronting our state: by ingeniously providing solutions. Programs initiated by the Black United Fund of Texas are in the areas of seed funding, non-profit development causing marketing, financial management, and cultural awareness.

Giving and technical assistance is critical to the Black United of Texas community development efforts. Through these efforts we are able to develop the unique opportunities that are so crucial to sustaining the community now and for future generations.

Seventy-cent of each dollar donated to the Black United Fund of Texas directly benefits organizations and individuals living in low-income communities. Many of our contributors are individuals that live within moderate to low-moderate communities; therefore, the reality of self-help is manifested in their actions, by giving.

After each previous year of fund raising, we are able to determine how many grants are to be given throughout Texas. Last year our work included 17 grants serving 20,000 Texans in various fields. We assisted 30 potential non-profits, we partnered with 10 groups in various cities across Texas, supported 2 organizations in Africa and Mexico, and 3 new agencies joined Black United Fund of Texas Charities.
