About BUFTX

​BUFTX is an administrative, programmatic and fiscally responsible proactive institution. Since 1987 we have served as a major anchor for supporting and developing funding initiatives that facilitate the positive growth and development in under served communities. We create educational programs and provide necessary resources in underprivileged areas that spur individual and community change. We believe in smart fund allocation, and therefore we employ minimal staff.

​Our programming is focused into one of eight areas:

U.S. EPA Environmental Justice Update

​We are almost complete with our U.S. EPA Environmental Justice Grant. To date, we have planted 250 trees, installed a garden at Wheatley High School, hosted 2 farm tours, hired 2 community members, & our program coordinator & instructor, Mr. Brew. Thanks to our partners, the City of Houston Health Department and Complete Communities, Houston Wilderness, Community Lattice, Afrocentric Communiversity, Nature Heritage Society, & Seeds of the Soil, for helping make this work successful.
